Kosuke Fukudome Profiles

Kosuke Fukudome starting off hot again

Monday, April 13th, 2009

Kosuke Fukudome started off great last season. After April in 2008 Fukudome was batting .319 with a .434 on base percentage. Kosuke even was voted on by the fans as the starting center fielder for the All-Star game.

After that he quickly fell out of favor though. His knack for swinging and missing at breaking balls quickly got him booed by the crowd. He was eventually benched for new fan favorite Reed Johnson.

The 2009 season has begun, and Kosuke Fukudome is off to a hot start once again. He is batting over .400 after one week of play and looks like the All-Star last year.

RantSports even shared their love for Kosuke Fukudome, letting the fans of Chicago know they did not give Kosuke a fair chance down the stretch in 2008.

I’m not that surprised at the season he’s having. I thought Lou sort of threw him under the bus during playoffs last year. At the end of last year Fukudome said it didn’t matter what Lou or Jim Hendry said about whether he had to work hard during the off season. He said he knew he had to work on some things. I think he had the right attitude. I hope he continues to have a great year.

Faildome “Fukudome” is going to have a great year, i truly believe his transition from Japan to the Major Leagues was pretty good. Plus that injury that he had just came off of in Japan.

Hes looking pretty solid as is right now. So far not the best player on the Cubs but easily Top3 right now.

Nice tribute site to a schmoe who will never be more than a .270 hitter w/10-12 HRS. Nice $48 million washout Hendry! Cub fans are so hopelessly pathetic.
